My First Blog Post

Welcome to my first blog post.

Yep, after all the peer pressure I am finally going to give this blogging business some effort. I really don’t have an excuse now that I have had the blog, design, photos etc all just handed to me ready to go! (Special mention to my sister FindingFemme for basically doing everything from setting up the blog, all my social media accounts and then taking photos! I will do my best!)

I am pregnant so I am embarking on a whole new fashion journey which is at times stressful. I have spent years learning how to dress to suit my shape so now that my shape is changing I am feel as if I am learning how to dress all over again.

Today’s clothing was not chosen specifically for the blog, but I had just knocked off work for the day when my sister FindingFemme asked to meet me to shoot some blog photos for her. On a whim she decided to take some snaps of me as well to get my blog going. FindingFemme is an awesome photographer and somehow managed to capture some great shots even though I was tired and had a small dose of the hungry grumps!

Skinny belts and simple dresses have been a staple in my wardrobe so far during pregnancy. Plain dresses are perfect as you only need to buy one or 2 basic dresses and you can wear them repeatedly but restyle them. I usually just mix up my looks simply by changing my outer layers. This dress is actually not a maternity dress, but because of the extra fabric which falls from the shoulder it fits perfectly around my bump. I bought it specifically to wear while I am pregnant as I love the fact that it has some detail. The dress is from Target and I also bought the belt from Target. I am obsessed with skinny, stretchy belts as they are great for showing off the belly and define your waist at its smallest part.

The only maternity item I am wearing is the stockings. If you don’t have maternity stockings I cannot recommend them enough. I purchased mine form H&M and went a size larger than normal to ensure they were comfortable. If you are wearing stockings while pregnant they will leave a big ugly line across your belly if they are too tight or sit too low. Maternity stockings will sit above your belly at the most slim area of your waist and wont leave you with a muffin top.

Hopefully as I learn more about dressing a pregnant figure I will be able to pass on a few tips and tricks that I find along my journey!
