Today is a throwback to when I was pregnant. Looking back at these pictures makes me miss being pregnant so much!
I bought this simple cotton dress and wore it repeatedly throughout my pregnancy in a variety of ways. Here are a selection of pictures on how I styled it 3 different ways (jacket, vest, pink jacket).

I was working throughout my pregnancy so I couldn’t just sit around in oversized T-shirts and trackies but needed to find nice workwear without buying a whole new wardrobe.
Here are some tips I found useful when pregnant:
Tip 1: Add a long jacket or vest.
Adding a long jacket makes you look taller and more sleek and the long lines contrast against the round belly. You also don’t look as wide from a side angle. If you want your belly to look more pronounced wearing a fitted dress or top will help.
Tip 2: Diffuse a large bust
If you are big in the bust wearing high neck tops and dresses can make you look bigger. I would usually try to wear tops with a lower neckline or if I were dressing for work I would add a large necklace to break up the area.
Tip 3: Buy non maternity items
Don’t bother buying overprices maternity clothing. I preferred to buy dresses like this one, in a stretch fabric and size larger than I normally wear.
Tip 4: Focus on beauty routine
A lot of the time you can feel very frumpy, so it helps to spend time on details such as hair and makeup. I could be wearing the plainest clothes but if I spend the extra time on my makeup I automatically feel as if I look nicer.
My hair is so long and thick I can never be bothered washing it (gross I know!!). If my hair was looking nice I felt pretty good too. I found using dry shampoo and having a good style cut helped maintain my hair between washes.
Tip 5: Accessories
I found that when I was pregnant there were not a lot of maternity clothes around that I liked. I ended up buying plain items and accessorizing with different outer layers already in my wardrobe or spending money on jewellery rather than overprices maternity clothes. Accessories always add the finishing touch to an outfit.
Tip 6: Add Colour
Whenever I could I would always add some colour to brighten up my look, whether it be a coat, scarf or lipstick. Seriously, a bright red or pink lip can add so much to a look!!
Let me know if you have any great tips for pregnancy style.
