Last night some amazing local businesses worked together for a fundraising event for womens cancer charities.
The event Hello Runway was a glamorous fashion affair organised by Renee Radulovic (Editor and Founder of Love Drum Magazine).
The night featured a runway show exhibiting clothing from Australian designers including Thurley, Asilio, By Johnny, steele Nobody, Talulah, Ena Pelly, Stevie May, Cameo the label, Shona joy, Pasduchas, Elka Collection, just to name a few with strong support from the local stores which stock all the labels.
There were also pop up stores around the mining exchange where you could purchase items, have your hair or make up styled, use a photobooth, suck on champagne popsicles and even have gold leaf delicately applied to your hair.
The highlight of the night however was the strong women, all cancer survivors who opened the show. Regardless of whether you knew one of the women or not, I doubt few in the crowd didn’t have teary eyes viewing their photographs and then seeing them walk the runway with strength and solidarity to a standing ovation. The wonderful MC, Jo, along with the crowd, wished them love, happiness and support.
I hope the opportunity arises for a similar event to be held again as not only was it a wonderful evening but also a chance to fundraiser for something that affects so many women.
If you have the opportunity I encourage you to support the many wonderful businesses who gave up so much in terms of time, resources, gift vouchers and support to assist with the event including:
