Last week I went to a midnight screening of Wonder Woman. To be able to attend I was required to nap as soon as I got home from work and the Captain dutifully woke me up half an hour before I needed to leave.
I love Wonder Woman and enjoyed the movie. I didn’t dress up for the event (my sister managed to turn up in her own Wonder Woman costume) however I have been wearing this caped maternity dress on repeat, which is close enough for me. I am currently obsessed with capes and have been wearing them constantly as if I am some sort of caped crusader.
I have no idea why, but wearing a cape makes you feel so authoritative. I bought a cape last year for winter and since then my obsession has grown. I bought this dress online early on in my pregnancy and purchased it in both burgundy and navy. You may remember me wearing it here at the runway event. Instead of just wearing this as a dress I have taken to wearing it as a top, tucked into jeans or even over leggings (I know the leggings option is pushing the boundary into superhero costume isn’t it!!).
The best part about wearing a cape is how it feels when you walk as it flows behind you, although at the moment I am doing more of a waddle, but it still makes me feel awesome and a little less pregnant! I have no intention of taking on any bad guys or fighting crime but I will be having a baby in a few months so I will be donning a cape and channeling my inner superwoman and attempting to strengthen my current super power (day time napping!) in readiness for that event.
